On Monday 17th July parents were invited to a special assembly to celebrate the achievements of the children in Year 4 and 5 who took part in the Brilliant Club this year. The children worked extremely hard  and although they may have found the essay challenging they persevered and completed their work to a very high standard.

When asked about their time in the Brilliant Club here is what the children said.

Gerardas (5E) – It was really challenging but it made me feel smarter and braver.

Aydan (5E) – It challenged  me and it was fun learning. The final essay was tricky but I  managed to get it done.

William (5E) – I enjoyed going to the different universities but doing the essay was challenging.

Amarda (5E) – I enjoyed going to the different universities and learnt what it is like to do university work.

Prospero (5D) – It was amazing. I really enjoyed doing the 1000 word essay because it was challenging. The essay was challenging because we had to make it very detailed.

Archie (5D) – I loved being with my tutor because she was kind and I loved her lessons. Some of the work was challenging.

Salamata (5D) – My tutor Tamara was amazing. I found getting the homework done on time challenging.

Jaimin (5G) – I enjoyed the Brilliant Club as I learnt new words and how to speak up and share my ideas. The essay was challenging but I was impressed with myself when I finished it.

Skyla (5G) – I enjoyed being part of the Brilliant Club because I learnt more about nature and literature. I found the last part of the essay difficult but I was determined to complete it.

Jonas (5G) – I enjoyed being part of the Brilliant Club because we got to see and feel what it is like to go to university. I also enjoyed my time with our tutor Tamara.

Bruno (4O) – I enjoyed being part of the Brilliant Club because it was fun learning about fairness and fair pay, and how equality is not always fair. I liked how it pushed us to write from 250 words to 1000 words.

Daniela (4O) – I enjoyed it because the tutorials weren’t hard or too difficult. Fairness is important and it was an amazing thing to learn about. Writing the essay was challenging.

Faiza (4O) – It really made me learn something new and I wish I could do it again. The trips were superb and I learned a lot about university life. I don’t think anything could replace this amazing experience. Writing the essay was challenging.

Lissa (4O) – I enjoyed being part of the Brilliant Club because I got to learn about the different qualities of fairness. Writing our final essay was a little stressful.

Angel (4AJ) – It was a great experience to be with other people who are not in my class. Writing the 1000 word essay was challenging because it is a really high number of words to write and it can make you a little bit nervous but I got through it.

Syed (4AJ) – I enjoyed going to different universities and seeing what the life of a university student was like. Doing the work helped us with our English work. Doing the essay was challenging.

Sparshiya (4AJ) – It gave me the opportunity to stretch myself past my limits by writing a 1000 word essay. The essay was challenging because I wasn’t sure if I was able to accomplish it let alone get a 1st.

Avielle (4AJ) – I enjoyed being part of the Brilliant Club because I was able to learn new things. Before the Brilliant Club I always thought fairness was just equality but I soon found out being equal isn’t always fair.

Alamin (4MB) – I enjoyed visiting the different universities. The 1000 word essay was challenging.

Aanya (4MB) – I  loved the experience of what it was like to be a university student. It was fun learning new things. The assignments were challenging as you had to finish them within a certain time.

Prince (4MB) – I enjoyed being part of the Brilliant Club because I was able to expand my knowledge and increased my confidence in completing longer pieces of writing. The one thing I found challenging was believing that I could write a 1000 word essay.

Majesty (4MB) – The program was an amazing and challenging experience because we got to find out more about university life. I loved this program because I know now how challenging and how much effort it takes to do an assignment. It helped me so much on how to push myself harder. The 1000 words essay was challenging as I had to push myself harder than usual. I am really happy I was chosen.
