At Monteagle Primary School, we embrace all cultures and religions. As the festival of Diwali is approaching, we decided to have an enrichment day filled with Diwali making activities from making rangoli patterns to designing paper lamps.

Expressive Arts and Design
We used our creative skills to explore colours and described the textures of things.
Understanding the world
We recognised and described special times as events for family and friends.
Physical Development
We learnt how to cut the lamps using scissors which is good for improving our fine motor skills.
Communication and Language
We listened carefully to the instructions on how to make the paper lamps and followed them correctly.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Children enjoyed being responsible of carrying out small tasks and showed confidence in asking adults for help.
