Over the last few weeks, the children in year 4 have been exploring the topic of sound. In their first lesson, they were challenged to learn as much as possible about sound to help them investigate which material would be best for muffling noise at a rock concert. This week, they applied their learning by designing and creating their own ear defenders. They discussed the equipment needed, made predictions, and ensured their investigation was a fair test. Working collaboratively, they came up with fantastic designs and decided as a class how to test their ear defenders. After carrying out their experiment, they concluded that fabric was the most effective material for reducing sound. They thoroughly enjoyed working together and investigating different materials to find the most effective option
