Year 4’s tooth decay investigation has come to a very mouldy end! The 4 eggs (which represent the enamel on our teeth) have been sitting in the water, milk, orange juice and cola for over a week now. Our observations have shown several things. The egg in water shows no noticeable signs of decay as it looks exactly the same as before. The egg in the orange juice has cracked slightly and feels a bit softer. The milk has caused the egg to crack too, and it also feels slightly softer. Lastly, the coke has really affected the egg. Not only has it cracked, it also looks like it is decaying and it feels soft. Our conclusion is – if you are going to drink anything other than water, ensure you brush your teeth thoroughly at the end of the day!
