We have been learning about fractions.
With our partners we thought about a whole orange that was made-up of 12 segments.
We then picked two number cards at random.
The first card showed how many orange segments one child ate.
The second card showed how many orange segments the second child ate.
To model this situation, we drew the pieces that each child had eaten.
We then wrote this as a fraction.
