Last week we had the police car visit for our ‘Transport topic’, and this week we had the fire engine arrive. Unfortunately, the fire officers were only here for a short time as they were called away for a job, so not all our children had the chance to see this, which is a shame, but we did have some of the children have the experience. For those who did see the fire engine, they were allowed to sit inside and they were eager to get in! It is a shame that there was not more time for the children to experience more, but hopefully we can try again in the future if we have ‘Transport’ as a topic.
Other children in our EYFS classes were using sensory trays to engage with their emotional regulation. As you can see from the pictures below, the children were using water play to run their hands through, and pour it from the watering can and small yoghurt pots that are perfect for collecting and pouring water from one pot to another. This will support their fine motor and coordination. There were also sea creatures within the water for them to pick up and move through the water.
Next week is half term, so we hope you all have a safe and restful week off. School re-opens on Tuesday 25th February for children.
We look forward to seeing you then!
