The children in year 5 have had an amazing start to the new school year. Their teachers have been very impressed with their excellent behaviour and perseverance when faced with new learning. We have already started the preparations for the Harvest Festival Celebration Assembly with songs being practiced, art work being created and donations for the foodbank being brought in.
Our first topic in maths this year is Roman Numerals. The children have already show brilliant decoding skills which has been assisted by the use of their talk partners.
We have also started reading a new book in English called Krindlekrax. This week the children were introduced to the bully in the story who goes by the name of Elvis. They drew and wrote character descriptions which you can see examples of below.
Altogether a fantastic start to the year and we look forward to what else is in store this term!
