Welcome back to a new school year!!!
We all hope you had a lovely summer break, and are looking forward to a fresh new start to the school term, we certainly are!
There have been so many changes the children and staff have had to endure this week in the ARP; new teachers, new classroom environments, and new children they share their class with.
Saying this, so many of the children have settled in well to their new classes. Others who are needing more time to settle means we are working hard to make those children feel more relaxed and comfortable as each day passes.
The routine for the children has been one of our key areas to manage this week. Sometimes a six week break feels amazing for the children, so structure and routine can be so helpful to them. We have shown them where their workstations are in class, and given them a simple routine of; reading books, attention autism strategies, sensory room activities and outside time whilst the weather is still warm.
We look forward to the children spending more time in their classes and settling even more next week, where they will be starting their main, core subjects and afternoon sensory activities. For now, here are some pictures of the children in their classes playing and relaxing in their new environments.
