This week, the children have been very creative in the afternoon activities by making Mother’s Day cards and playing ‘pass the parcel’ in small groups.
During one of the activities this week, the children have been using paint to design Mother’s Day cards in an array of patterns. Most of the children were creating their cards using finger mark-making, others were encouraged to use the paintbrush to make marks, but most of the children preferred to get messy and stuck in with their hands.
In other classes, they were playing ‘pass the parcel’ with the reward at the end being an item of clothing. Each child had a chance to rip open a layer of wrapping paper from the activity, but then had to pass it to the next person to continue playing the game. In different intervals, a small item of clothing would be found by a child, and they would name it as a group. That child would hold on to that item of clothing until the end of the game. The children really enjoyed ripping open the wrapping paper and finding different items of clothing and sharing it with the class.
