In PSHE, the children have been learning how to recognise healthy and unhealthy behaviours and qualities in friendships. Together, they created a list of words to describe a healthy, positive friendship, coming up with terms like friendly, respectful, kind, and caring. We then had a class discussion, where the children shared examples to illustrate the words they chose. To deepen their understanding, we repeated the activity, this time focusing on unhealthy or negative friendships. By the end of the lesson, the children could clearly explain what a healthy friendship looks like and wrote about who their friend is and why.
