Last week, Year 6 pupils from Monteagle School explored the local area to investigate how the population is affecting the environment. They observed that the streets were filled with cars, leading to air pollution, greenhouse gases and potential health risks. They were also shocked to see large amounts of rubbish overwhelming the area, making it look dirty, smell unpleasant and harming wildlife. After discussing these issues, the children came up with solutions, such as walking more, using public transport and switching to electric cars to reduce pollution. They were also eager to take action by organising another local clean-up to help make their community a cleaner and healthier place for everyone.
