Dear Parents,
I hope this letter finds you all safe and well.
I wanted to write to you, as I am sure that many of you will have seen the Government announcement to reopen all schools fully from September. At Monteagle, we welcomed this as a positive step back to some form of normality. Children in the ARP and Years 1-6 will all start back at school as planned on Monday 7th September.
For those of you with children due to start in Reception, you will, as is normal , have a later start date in September. This is to allow of virtual home visits and individual meetings with teachers. We are not anticipating the children to start any later than they usually would. Usually in the third week of term. You will receive a letter in the coming week with further, more detailed information.
Many of you will of course want to meet your child’s teacher. We were hoping to be able to do this before the end of term but will now have to organise this in a more staggered way for September. The meetings may also be done remotely via zoom with a member of SLT supporting.
There will of course be certain aspects of school life that we will need to make adaptations for in order to ensure that we are meeting government requirements for educational settings. I will of course share the full plans with you all, once I have the information required.
Our main focus and objective will be to ensure that all children are back in school, settled, happy and in a normal school routine. Our curriculum has been adapted as it always is, to meet the needs of our children and ensure that they have broad, exciting and engaging curriculum.
At the moment there are still lots of unknowns. For example, we are unsure at the moment, how we will run before and after school clubs if children have to remain in bubbles. We will certainly have some form of staggered start and finish times to the school day to prevent over crowding on site but as it stands, we need more information and clarity on the Department for Education guidance before I am able to share any plans with you.
Experience has taught me, that many things may change over the coming weeks. I will continue to share any information or updates related to our full reopening as soon as I am able too. I will continue to write and update the website through the summer holidays so that you are fully informed and ready for the start of the new term.
Thank you for your continued patience and support.
Sara
