This week, year 1 children continued to develop their understanding of line and their exploration of different media. They viewed and considered artwork by Zaria Foreman and listened to classical music by Debussy. While listening to classical music, the children aimed to let the sound control their ideas and produced large wave images that included horizonal, vertical, diagonal, wavy, crosshatched and broken lines. They then used a combination of chalk, pastel, crayon and pencil in a variety of ways to add detail and colour.
Year 6 children considered and explored street art as well as pastels. Through research and thought into types of serifs, each child designed a font type as well as a colour scheme to produce their own style of graffiti.
