This week at Monteagle Nursery, we have been celebrating Maths Week with a range of exciting, hands on activities that have made learning about numbers and shapes both fun and engaging.
We focused on:
Grouping and Sorting: The children sorted shapes by type and objects by size, developing their ability to identify patterns and differences.
Counting and Recognising Numbers: We worked on counting and recognising numbers from 0 to 10, building confidence in number identification.
Exploring Numicon: The children loved working with this fantastic resource to build early numeracy skills. They matched Numicon pieces to their corresponding numbers, reinforcing their understanding of quantity and representation.
Exploring Capacity: Filling containers was a big hit, as the children began to understand the concept of capacity through play and experimentation.
