Last Friday marked an exciting day for Monteagle Primary as children from Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 put themselves forward in our eagerly awaited Student Council election. Each candidate crafted detailed manifestos, full of inspiring ideas on how to make our school an even better place for everyone. From environmental improvements to creating new opportunities for student leadership, their creativity and ambition were truly impressive!
During class hustings, the candidates had their chance to shine as they faced challenging questions from their peers about their promises. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to think critically about the changes they want to see and explain how they would achieve them if elected.
Last Friday, the Monteagle General Election officially took place. Polling stations were set up across the school, and with great enthusiasm, students lined up to cast their votes. It was a day filled with anticipation and excitement as the entire school community took part in this democratic process.
As of Friday afternoon, we now have a newly elected Student Council! The new council members are vocal, determined, and ready to take action on behalf of their classmates. With their passion and commitment, we are sure they will help bring about meaningful changes and represent the voice of our students.
