Over the last few weeks the children in Year 2 have enjoyed the book The Secret Sky Garden.
The story centers around a little girl called Funni and her creation of a garden in an old airport car park. Throughout the process Funni feels that there is something missing from her garden but she isn’t sure what. Then one day a boy called Zoo sees her garden from a plane and decides to go and visit the garden. It is then that Funni discovers what was missing from her garden – a friend.
The children completed a range of writing tasks while working on this book and ended with writing about their special friend. They had to explain who their friend is, why they are a good friend, what they like doing with their friend and how their makes them feel.
