Year 6 parents were invited to join their children and take part in a No Waste Cookery Workshop. Experts from Barking & Dagenham’s Waste Management and Food Education team hosted the event. They delivered a talk promoting healthy families and a happy planet which was followed by an accessible cookery workshop. Parents and their children made a delicious salad with a recipe designed to reduce waste. The salad was then given out to the other students for them to try and it was a hit!
Thank you to the hosts from Barking and Dagenham Council and all the parents that attended. It was a wonderful learning experience for the children, helping them to become independent by equipping them with important life skills and increasing their knowledge on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle and reduce waste.
