We are excited to share that Year 5 has kicked off the new term with some fantastic learning! This week, we’ve begun our topic on Harvest, exploring what it is and why it’s such an important time of year. As part of our learning, the children will be putting together a special Harvest Assembly for you. We can’t wait to showcase everything we’ve discovered, from how food is grown to the significance of sharing and giving during harvest time.
A big focus this week has been learning about food banks and how vital they are in supporting families in our community. The children have had thoughtful discussions about the importance of helping others, especially during challenging times. We are incredibly proud of their empathy and understanding.
In Maths, we’ve continued working on place value, pushing ourselves to understand and work with numbers up to 1,000,000. It is great to see the how the chilren have really embraced the challenge and are making fantastic progress!
In English, we have just started reading our new class book, Krindlekrax. The children are already hooked and loving the story so far. It’s sparking lots of enthusiasm and creativity, and we can’t wait to see where the adventure takes us.
Overall, it’s been a busy but brilliant start to the term, and we look forward to keeping you updated as we continue to explore, learn, and grow together.
