This week the children in reception have really been engrossed in their outdoor learning. They have excelled in taking part in the various activities that have been carefully and purposefully set up for them by the reception year staff. Some of the activities included:
Fine motor activities: Writing their names and high frequency words in the sand using a paintbrush and coloured sand.
Understanding of the world: Setting up a woodland in the big tray using grass and woodland animals.
Maths: Making models with 3D shapes and describing them. Exploring capacity in the sand tray.
Role-Play: Writing letters and pretending to be post officer.
