Most recently, Year 3 have been learning two songs. The first of which is called ‘Panda Extravaganza’ which you can see them perform below. This song is unsurprising all about pandas and is written in the style of hip hop music, containing some rapped parts, synthesizers and drum machines. The children learnt how Hip Hop music was developed in the South Bronx, an African American area of New York, in the 1970s, and was influenced by Jamaican Sound System culture.
The second song they have learnt is called ‘The Dragon Song’, which is in the style of pop music, and you can hear some children perform their instrumental for it below. This week the children will finish learning this song and perform them both in their weekly singing assembly to their peers!
