On Tuesday 10th January, the ARP held our second parent coffee morning for parents to come along and find support from teachers, other parents and external professionals.
This week we had Rehana Talaimojeh join our coffee morning to talk about the Phoenix Home Support Project. It is a well established support package that supports parents and families at home with school based strategies and techniques.
One of the main focuses that the Home Project support with is not just supporting the children, but also supporting the parents and carers at home. Skilled and experienced professionals are allocated to come and support families at home for either a 6 week block, or a 10 week block. The staff are there to teach and model to parents and carers how to support their children and become more independent, which will help the parents and carers to relax and have a more calming home environment.
It is highly recommended by all staff and parents who have had the support from the project in the past. There is a waiting list but Rehana explained that if you are not seen within the first two terms after being referred, then you will be seen in the third term, for example; if you are are referred for the Phoenix Home Support Project today, you will receive the training and support in the September term.
If you are interested or want to be referred for this project, please speak to or contact Karen, ARP admin, or a member of the ARP team, Conor and/ or Ms Young, and we will refer you to Rehana.
On another note, we are having another coffee morning on Monday 30th January where the ARP Leadership team will be introducing themselves and making sure you know who to speak to going forward. If you are interested in attending, please keep an eye out for a parent mail being set out soon, and let us know you are wanting to attend.
