This term, children in reception have been learning about people who help us. We have looked at a range of pictures from vets, to fire fighters. We talked about what makes these people special, what they wear, and how we can identify them.
The children were broken into two groups. One child was asked to be our model and the children traced around their friend. Once this was finished the children took turns cutting out the image. We then had a discussion about what they wanted to be (nurse, doctor, fire fighter). The children with the help of the teachers, drew some of the key items on their image. After, they used paint sticks to begin to fill in their picture.
The children will continue to complete their large person this week and next week we will glue them onto large backgrounds which the children will design as well. Stay tuned for more updates and check out the photos below:
