This week, we are excited to announce the beginning of the Little Wandle Foundation Programme with our nursery children! This program is designed to develop children’s phonological and phonemic awareness through fun, engaging activities, nursery rhymes, and games.

Why Foundations for Phonics?
Building strong foundations in phonics during nursery lays the groundwork for successful learning in Reception. The Foundations for Phonics program focuses on two key aspects: Rhyme Time and Tuning into Sounds.

Rhyme Time explores the world of rhymes, helping children build a rich vocabulary and understand the sounds in words. This aspect promotes shared language and enhances their understanding of the world around them.

Tuning into Sounds emphasises phonological and phonemic awareness through various games that make learning enjoyable and interactive.
