This week, our Year 5 students embraced their creativity by diving into the world of poetry, using Harvest and autumn as their inspiration. As the leaves begin to turn golden and the season of abundance is upon us, the children explored how to express these beautiful changes through words.
Throughout the week, we discussed various poetry techniques, focusing on rhyme and patterns. The students enjoyed playing with words, creating rhythmic and rhyming poems that brought the sights, sounds, and feelings of autumn to life. But it didn’t stop there! Many students chose to experiment with non-rhyming poems, crafting free verse that allowed their creativity to flow in unique and unexpected ways.
The result? A collection of wonderfully imaginative poems, each capturing the spirit of Harvest and autumn in its own special way. We are excited to share some of these pieces with you at our Harvest Festival on Friday, 27th. It will be a great opportunity for the children to showcase their hard work and poetic talents!
We hope to see you there, celebrating the season and the creativity of our Year 5 poets!
