This week, the Year 2 children have been working hard on their writing skills, focusing specifically on expanding their noun phrases. Using pictures and videos as stimuli, they described what Claude and Sir Bobblysock saw and heard during their adventurous trip to the city. They began by crafting phrases like “noisy, rushing cars” and then elaborated further to create more detailed descriptions such as “noisy, rushing cars speeding down the street.” As the week progressed, the children used these enriched sentences to compose a collaborative group poem, followed by their own individual poems. Their dedication and creativity culminated in the production of some truly outstanding work.
