Year 4 are currently reading ‘Ice Palace’ by Robert Swindells. To prepare the children for writing, they have been taking part in a number of drama activities. These include freeze framing, conscience alley and speaking in role as a character. At the beginning of the story, the children are introduced to a character called Starjik. The people of Ivan’s land are frightened of him. The children got into role as the villages of Ivan’s land, preparing for Starjik’s Winter visit!
