Last week, Year 5 learnt the song ‘Put a little love in your heart’, written by acclaimed singer songwriter Jackie Deshannon in the late 1960s. The lyrics are just as important today as they were then so it was an important song for the children to sing.
We fine tuned our singing and then learnt a rather tricky instrumental on our glockenspiels and keyboards using several notes including an F#. This pieces also included semi-quavers which were quite the challenge which all of Year 5 did a fantastic job on. In fact, they did such a great job they performed the song in our weekly singing assembly to the Year 4 and 6 pupils.
