Happy Friday to everyone!
We have been busy learning all about Diwali and Bonfire Night this week. We have read the story Binny’s Diwali and learnt about Rama and Sita. We have watched fireworks on our class screens and made Diya lamps to take home.
We also had our wonderful Reading Workshop where I was able to explain how we teach reading at Monteagle and how our phonics lessons run. Please do not worry if you missed it, a PDF will be sent to you via parent mail showing all the slides from the power point. If you do have any questions then please do come see a member of the Reception team. On Monday your children will also come home with an Early Reading Activity Booklet which will show you some of the activities that will help your child learn to read.
The children were very excited to have visitors into the classroom and were able to show them some of the activities we do that help us to read.
The children have had a wonderful first week back at school and have settled back into their routines brilliantly. Ms Rider even commented on how calm the classroom’s have been and how engaged the children are. We are very proud of them all.
