What a fantastic start to year five. To celebrate Roald Dahl week, we enjoyed reading his book “The Dirty Beasts”, which is a hilarious animal rhymes book. We decided to focus on the poem “The Porcupine” as it made us chuckle and has lots of rhyming words.
The children performed a readers theatre, using expression and actions they brought the poem to life. Over the week, we practised and enjoyed thinking of creative actions for each line of the rhyme. As the week progressed, so too did our confidence. To showcase our work, each class proudly performed their readers theatre at Achievement Assembly. It was an impressive performance and was enjoyed by all.
