In English, Year 4 have started reading the book ‘Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx’ by Joe Todd-Stanton.
We focused on some of the main characters in the story and their gallery of paintings. On sticky notes, children were asked to jot down words and phrases that they would use to describe their characteristics, as well as anything that the images remind them of and any questions that they have. Children then enjoyed doing a ‘Role on the wall’ for the main character ‘Marcy’ and wrote down words/phrases to describe her inner/outer characteristics.
