This week, we have once again been focussing on many role playing activities, which are linked to our Drama topic over the past few weeks.
One class has solely focussed their role play activity based on the book we are currently reading in English, ‘Lullaby Hullaballoo’. The child had to design his own knights costume using cardboard cut outs, paint and a lot of creativity. He loved the activity and had a real go at creating his shield and helmet, using colours to really bring it all to life.
Another class were focussing on helping others when they grow up and based themselves as doctors and nurses. They had to wear costumes to become someone in these professions and ‘nurse’ someone back to health. Each child took it in turns to lay down and be the patient, whilst other children pretended to be the doctor and the nurse helping them. The children loved taking part and dressing up in this task.
Finally, another class were preparing to take part in a role play activity, but first, they all had to work together and come up with a plan on how to complete this task as a team. They had to decide which characters they were going to portray, and how they would present their role play. All the children sat around the book reading the scene and deciding how to bring their role play task to life.
