This week, the children have been very creative. They have been using a lot of props to create new scenarios linked to the book ‘Meg on the Moon’. They have also been trying to recreate music using some fantastic resources.
Some of the children had to create and design their own space suits and rocket packs to prepare for a launch into space. The children were roleplaying pretending to be astronauts and what they might do when they got into space.
Another class were pretending to be Meg in her spaceship and had to place a picture of her onto a large outline of space. There are amazing lights that shine brightly, making the outline look like the stars are really shining. It looks lovely!
There were other children who were also roleplaying, but they were pretending to be Meg, the witch. They wore witches hats and sat on a broomstick to fly to the moon. Then, they had to fly back to Earth, carrying their cat, Mog, with them. Some of the children really got into the character by posing in brilliant ways.
Whilst some children were roleplaying, another group of children were designing a 3D Earth model of the Earth! They had to blow up a big balloon and cover it with small pieces of blue and green pieces of paper. This was to represent the land and the sea found on the globe. It looks fantastic!
Finally, a music lesson showed how a large padded drum set can be used to help the children hear, copy and recreate a piece of music on their own. They had a go at copying the beat for the song, ‘We Will Rock You’. They look like they really enjoyed themselves doing this, especially with hitting the drum set with a drum stick to make the right sounds.
