This week in year 4, we have been working really hard at working on our rounding skills in maths!
We have been rounding numbers to the nearest ten and working out which ten the numbers are between.
For example : 436 is between 430 and 440 and rounded to the nearest 10 is 440.
We have used number lines to help us and placing the numbers on there to visually see which ten it is closer to.
We now know the rule is: if the ones are 1,2,3,4 we round down, if the ones are 5,6,7,8,9 then we round up to the next ten!
