This week in Year 1, we have been busy celebrating Safer Internet Day, focusing on the theme ‘Inspiring Change, Making a Difference, Managing Influence, and Navigating Change Online.’ Our children explored various online changes such as pop-ups, messages, and adverts, reflecting on how these digital experiences affect them. We encouraged them to share their feelings and discuss the appropriate steps to take when faced with online changes or concerns.
Through guided conversations, the children identified trusted individuals they could confide in if they encountered any worrisome situations online. This exercise aimed to foster a strong sense of online safety and equip them with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the digital world responsibly.
We are proud of our Year 1 students’ engagement and thoughtful discussions during Safer Internet Day. It is essential to ensure that our children can embrace the positives of the online world while keeping themselves safe.
