In Year 2 we have been mastering the melody of the traditional Ghanaian song, ‘Senwa De Dende.’
First we sang the song and discussed which sounds were higher and which lower. We figured out that each verse starts on a high pitch and moves down to a lower pitch. Using solfege pitches (do, re, mi, fa and so) we managed to work out the melody.
We started on the highest pitch, ‘so’ and then moved backwards down the solfege ending on the lowest pitch ‘do.’
Check out our lovely solfeggio partner singing!
