This term has been an exciting journey for our Reception classes we have been enchanted by our world of fantasy stories. They have been thoroughly engrossed in crafting their very own versions of the classic tale of the Gingerbread Man, adding a sprinkle of their own creativity to each character. It has been heart warming to see them playing in the sunshine, engrossed in imaginative play in our school garden.
In our classrooms, the air has been filled with giggles and excitement as the children concocted their very own ‘silly soup,’ each adding their unique touch by mixing in raindrops to their culinary creations.
Mathematics has been a central focus this term, with our Reception class delving into the world of numbers. From exploring the concepts of long and short to crafting number sentences, the children have shown impressive growth in their numerical abilities. The introduction of number lines has further added in solidifying their understanding of maths concepts.
We have also encouraged our young learners to express themselves through writing, with weekend recounts being a highlight of their literacy journey. From retelling their adventures to sharing their favourite moments, each child’s unique voice has shone through in their written expressions.
As we reflect on this term, it is heartening to see the growth, creativity, and passion for learning that each child has exhibited. We look forward to the continued journey of exploration and discovery as we nurture the young minds in our Reception classes.
