Across Year 4 and 5 a group of 24 children have been chosen to take part in The Brilliant Club. This is a programme that gives children around the UK the opportunity to see what it would be like to attend university. Over the next seven weeks the children will be working with a PhD tutor in small tutorial groups, studying a subject area that their tutor is an expert in. The Year 4 children will be studying Philosophy – What is fairness? while the Year 5 children will be studying Law – What are rights? By the end of the programme the children will complete a university style essay and have it graded using university grade levels. Those that pass the programme will take park in a graduation later in the summer term.
