Y6 were lucky enough to visit Westminster Central Hall yesterday to watch a stage performance of the text ‘The Children of Willesden Lane.’ The story was written by the daughter of parents who were Jewish refugees during WW2, and had left their home town Vienna and moved to London.
The stage show, was the book retold by its author through live piano music and photographs and it really had the children captivated and moved.
What more, we were in a beautiful venue, on a beautifully sunny day and the children behaved impeccably and represented our school fantastically well. Once the show was finished, we had our lunch outside on a green in front of Westminster Abbey, before heading back to the station and returning to school for the end of the day.
A big thanks to the Holocaust Education Trust for allowing us to come and enjoy the very moving performance. Here are a selection of pictures taken during the day.
