This week, one ARP class went to the Gruffalo trail in Thorndon Country Park, Brentwood as it links to the story of the Gruffalo that we are currently reading.
The children had a wonderful time on the trip! They enjoyed walking through the forest, searching for the different characters in the book; Gruffalo, mouse, fox, owl and the snake. When the children found a familiar character, they ticked it off on their sheets. It was hard to find the owl, but eventually we found it, thankfully!
We also had some parents attend the trip, which was extremely helpful to keep the children safe, as well as those parents being a part of their children’s experience. We would like to say a huge thank you to those parents who supported on the day, as well as the staff who supported on the day. It was really nice to see so many adults go with the children to help them enjoy their trip out.
Take a look at some pictures below of the children trudging through the forest, eating lunch, and finding different characters along the trail of the Gruffalo!
