This week Year 5 have been very busy reading The Highwayman By Alfred Noyes. They were fully engrossed in the text and eager to find out what happens on the next page. So far, they have rewritten the first stanza in the style of Alfred Noyes, discussed what they like and dislike about the text so far. They have also written questions for the three main characters. The children shown a good understanding of the relationship between the Highwayman and Bess.
All the teachers have been very impressed with the writing we have seen so far. In the weeks to come we will continue to delve into this fascinating text. Stayed tuned for some examples of the work produced by the children.
