This week, Year 4 had our parent workshops. They proved to very successful with many parents attending, much to the teachers delight!
The session started with us being given the basic equipment to make a simple circuit: a light bulb, bulb holder, two wires and a cell. In teams, with our parents support, we worked together to work out how to use the electricity stored in the cell to light the bulb. This didn’t take us long at all!
We then moved on to investigating and predicting other more complicated circuits. For example, a circuit with two lights or more than one cell. We found out the light became dimmer, the more bulbs added to the circuit, and the light became brighter when more cells were added.
We are really looking forward to our next parent workshop and the teachers would like to say a HUGE thank you to all those that attended!
