Yesterday was World Book Day. This week we read ‘The Wonder’ by Faye Hanson. The story is about a boy who has a wonderful imagination. We designed our own imaginative worlds and we wrote descriptions. Some of us were lucky enough to read our descriptions out in assembly.
On Thursday we came dressed up as a character from a story book. We came as ‘Mr Fox, from Fantastic Mr Fox’, Charlie from ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and Miss Honey from ‘Matilda’, to name a few. Even the teachers joined in. They came as characters from the book we were reading last term, ‘Street Child’.
In maths we continue to work on percentages and we are now able to find the decimal/ percentage/ fraction equivalents. In context we were looking at charities that provide humanitarian aid in Great Britain and beyond.
