For World Book Day, we’ve been diving into the wonderful story Puddling by Emma Perry and Claire Alexander.

“Clouds gather, skies darken, rain drops, puddles appear… Let’s go puddling!”

This playful, interactive book captures the pure joy of children splashing through muddy puddles, feeling the thrill of the rain, and later snuggling up for warmth.

To bring the story off the page and into our play, we dressed up in our wellies and coats and acted out the adventure, jumping, splashing, and giggling just like the characters in the book.

We also got creative with a rainy day craft, making our very own rain shakers! Using bottles and tubes, we filled them with rice to recreate the sound of raindrops, then decorated them with bright colours and patterns.
