This week in Year 1, we celebrated World Book Week with a special focus on the book ‘Flooded’ by Mariajo Ilustrajo. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the narrative through engaging role play, as we considered the challenges of conducting daily activities in a flooded world.
As a class, we collectively chose a character and embarked on a creative journey to produce our own book detailing a day in the flood. Everyone contributed a page, describing the struggles our chosen animal faced in this altered reality.
To conclude the week, we hosted a delightful dressing-up day, inviting everyone to arrive in costumes suitable for a rainy, flooded day. It was an enriching experience filled with creativity and fun!
