Wow, what a tremendous maths week we have had in year five, and across the school. During our maths lessons, we have tackled a variety of word problems using manipulatives such as numicon, cuisinaire and counters.
In preparation for the Rockslam competition, we had the semi and quarter finals in class. It was tense, but the children did an outstanding job and showed off their times tables skills. Over the week, we have seen children improve their time and accuracy, proving how effective Times Tables Rock Stars is.
Congratulations to Miracle who was the Rockslam Champion with a fantastic score of 99 correct answers. What an achievement, we are already looking forward to the next maths week.
