Year 3 has been composing (writing) their own music based on the Ghanaian call and response song ‘Senwa Dadende’.
This involved writing their own rhythm using Kodaly rhythmic syllables, ti, ta and ta-a (see picture below).
Then they added a melody, using either xylophones or keyboard, and two-three notes.
Last of all, they came up with their own lyrics, added unpitched percussion and considered dynamics (volume).
