Today, children in year 3 worked with oil pastel and created a series of cave drawings drawing inspiration from the caves of Altamira in Spain and the cave drawings in Lascaux France.
Children worked in small groups to develop their drawings that ranged from hand prints, to bison, and wild horses. They only used the colours that would have been available to people of the Stone Age this includes red (from berries), black (taken from the ash of fires), brown and orange (clay) and often white was created when using sharp stones to create markings on the caves.
