This week year 3 have been investigating sculpture using earthenware clay. The children were given two pieces of clay. The first piece had to be formed into a circle and then pressed in to create a bowl like shape. From there, the children were encouraged to push out the sides and create petal like shapes. They used a variety of tools to smooth, add rough edges and holes to their pieces. The next challenge was to work together to make one sculpture using all of their smaller creations. The children showed real creativity today.
