Year 5 musicians have been mastering the magic of pop music. First, we learned to play and sing one of our favourite pop songs ‘Savage Love’ in the key of G – using the chord structure Em (6), C (4), G (1) and D (5). We them rearranged this chord structure, added a “catchy” melody line and composed upbeat, positive lyrics, based around ‘Savage Love’. We explored how ostinato (or repetition) could be used to create either a chorus of first verse of our song.
