After a relatively peaceful night in the outbacks of Ockenden (minus the occasional visit from some 8-legged friends) the Year 5s headed out after a hearty breakfast to take on the high ropes course.
Taking on heights is one thing but facing it in the woods while strapped to a tree could send even the bravest a little wobbly legged. Safe to say all of the group gave it their best shot and while some flew through the course at ease, others used the exercise to face – and conquer – some fears.
A fine effort from all saw them rewarded with Pizza (and a bit of salad) for lunch.
The day then took us from the heights to the depths and paddle boarding on the lake was next. The kids had great fun tackling this in their groups and while some tried to remain dry (not all successfully) others took the opportunity to cool off on a fine day by throwing themselves (voluntarily) into the water!
After a high energy day of activities we carried on ticking off all of the culinary classics with Cheeseburgers for dinner… don’t worry, I’ve been assured it’s vegetables all the way tomorrow!
A big thanks to Miss Rider, Mr Marshall and Miss Buckland who came along for the day to support the kids, as well as getting involved in the fun and food themselves.
We are currently enjoying our last night with a disco and some fun interactive acting games!
There are a few tired heads around already so we are expecting another good nights sleep before we conclude with archery and laser tag tomorrow!
